Neubau (the 7th District of Vienna) is the city's arts-and-culture quarter, lying west of Innere Stadt and famous for the MUSEUMSQUARTIER — one of the largest museum complexes in the world at 90,000 m² — and for SPITTELBERG, a historic craft quarter with cobbled lanes and hip cafes.
The distance from Vienna International Airport (VIE) to the area around Museumsplatz, Spittelberg and Burggasse is about 18 km. Standard transfer time is 22-32 minutes. The usual routing runs along the A4 (Ost Autobahn) westbound, then the Ringstrasse and Heldenplatz, with the final segment via Museumsplatz or Burggasse adjusted to the specific address.
We regularly serve the MUSEUMSQUARTIER (MQ) — one of the ten largest cultural complexes in the world, opened in 2001 on the grounds of the former imperial Habsburg stables (90,000 m², including the Leopold Museum with the world's largest Egon Schiele collection — 220 paintings plus works by Klimt and Kokoschka; MUMOK Museum Moderner Kunst with works by Picasso, Warhol and Mucha; Kunsthalle Wien; Architekturzentrum Wien; and the ZOOM Kindermuseum) and SPITTELBERG — a historic 17th-18th-century craft quarter with cobbled lanes (Spittelberggasse, Schrankgasse, Gutenberggasse), artisanal galleries, antique dealers, atmospheric cafes and the famous SPITTELBERGER WEIHNACHTSMARKT (one of Vienna's most authentic Christmas markets, November-December). Frequent destinations also include the Schmetterlingshaus butterfly park and the Volkstheater (one of the largest dramatic theatres in Europe, 1889, 952 seats), Burggasse and Lerchenfelder Strasse with hip shops and trend restaurants (ARTNER, Lampl, Plachutta), Stiftgasse with designer boutiques and hotels around Westbahnhof.
Neubau requires familiarity with the layout of Museumsplatz — the main entry to the MuseumsQuartier (Museumsplatz 1) — and the cobbled lanes of Spittelberg, which are partly restricted to vehicles (Begegnungszone). The MuseumsQuartier has its own drop-off zone on Museumsplatz.

Spittelberg is mainly pedestrian — the chauffeur drives to Burggasse or Stiftgasse and we walk luggage the final 100-200 metres to boutique hotels (e.g. Hotel Altstadt Vienna on Kirchengasse). During afternoon hours and weekends (especially in the December market season), Burggasse is busy with foot traffic.
This route works well for MQ art connoisseurs (the Leopold Museum holds the largest Egon Schiele collection in the world — 220 paintings — and MUMOK shows Picasso, Warhol, Mucha and Bauhaus, a must-see for any Vienna visitor), Christmas Market Spittelberg clients (one of the most authentic Christmas markets in Vienna, local craft, not mass production), hip weekend visitors (Burggasse, Lerchenfelder Strasse with trend restaurants, craft beer bars and Austrian designer shops), Volkstheater audiences (a classic of Viennese theatre, 952 seats, dramatic repertoire) and families with children (ZOOM Kindermuseum at MQ, an interactive museum for ages 0-12). We operate 24/7. The fare is fixed and confirmed before travel; flight tracking, arrivals pickup with a name board and 60 minutes of waiting after landing are included.
Payment is completed online by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or BLIK. Child seats, boosters and larger luggage space can be prepared on request.
