The drive from Vienna Airport to Wiener Rathaus covers about 20 km and usually takes 25-40 minutes. The route follows the A4 motorway towards Vienna, then the A23 Südosttangente, with the final approach via Landstraßer Hauptstraße or the Ringstraße towards the first district, Innere Stadt. The closing kilometres along the Ring tend to be slower, especially during the Christmas market period, when traffic around Rathausplatz is rerouted and short-stop zones are restricted.
After landing, your chauffeur meets you in Terminal 3 arrivals with a name board, assists with luggage and drives to Rathausplatz via Reichsratsstraße or Stadiongasse, depending on the daily traffic management. For guests visiting the Wiener Christkindlmarkt, the Film Festival or the Wiener Eistraum, we align the drop-off so that the walk to your chosen entrance is as short as possible. During major events Rathausplatz itself is closed to cars and pickups take place in the adjacent streets within easy walking distance.
We also handle transfers to civic receptions and official events held in the Rathaus halls, rides between Rathausplatz and hotels in the Innere Stadt, and late-evening returns after open-air concerts. A transfer to Wiener Rathaus suits premium leisure visitors exploring central Vienna, couples on a Christmas-market break and corporate delegations invited to city receptions. It should be predictable, discreet and aligned with the operating logic of one of the most representative addresses in Vienna.
Arrival logistics
The standard drop-off is at Rathausplatz 1, but during Christkindlmarkt, Eistraum and the Film Festival the square is closed to traffic. We then use Reichsratsstraße, Stadiongasse or Friedrich-Schmidt-Platz. There is no on-site parking; short stops only — for longer waits the chauffeur uses the Volkstheater or Universitätsring car parks nearby.
