The Albertina at Albertinaplatz 1 is one of the world's leading art museums, founded in 1768 by Duke Albert Casimir of Saxe-Teschen — the son-in-law of Empress Maria Theresia. The palace stands on the Augustinian bastion above Albertinaplatz, a one-minute walk from the Staatsoper and the Hofburg.
The Albertina collection contains more than 65,000 original drawings and around 1 million prints — the largest collection of its kind in the world. It includes masterpieces by Albrecht Dürer (the famous "Young Hare" of 1502 and the "Great Piece of Turf"), Raphael, Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Rubens, Rembrandt, Claude Monet, Gustav Klimt and Egon Schiele.
The Albertina is also known for blockbuster temporary exhibitions of Modigliani, Monet, Picasso, Magritte, Munch and Roy Lichtenstein. For a passenger landing at Schwechat, what counts is an understanding of the Innere Stadt traffic restrictions and a clear choice between the main entrance and the Albertina Modern entrance (Künstlerhaus).
The ride from Vienna Airport to the Albertina covers about 20 km and usually takes 25-40 minutes. The route typically follows the A4 motorway towards Vienna, then either the A23 urban motorway or a direct exit to Landstraßer Hauptstraße, with the final approach along the Ringstraße. The closing section near Albertinaplatz requires live judgement, as the square sits inside the Innere Stadt restricted traffic zone, and the surrounding streets — Augustinerstraße and Operngasse — are partially pedestrianised.

After landing, your chauffeur meets you in Terminal 3 arrivals with a name board, assists with luggage and drives directly to the Albertina entrance on Albertinaplatz 1. The entrance is reached via a wide ramp (Rampe) along the Augustinian bastion — both an architectural feature and a practical access route for senior guests and families.
If you have booked a visit at Albertina Modern on Karlsplatz (the new branch in the Künstlerhaus, opened in 2020), we align the drop-off with that location. For larger corporate delegations and VIP groups, we can coordinate several vehicles.
We also handle return transfers after the visit, rides between the Albertina and hotels in its immediate vicinity (Hotel Sacher, Park Hyatt, Bristol, Le Méridien) and onward routes to the Kunsthistorisches Museum, the Belvedere or the MAK as part of a cultural day.
A transfer to the Albertina works well for premium guests, collectors, enthusiasts of Dürer and Schiele drawings, and corporate organisers using the palace's state rooms (Habsburg State Rooms, Tiepolo Hall) as a venue.
