The district's internationally known address is the Polish Aviation Museum at Aleja Jana Pawła II 39 - the largest aviation museum in Poland and one of the leading in Europe. The collection includes more than 200 aircraft (from pioneers of First World War aviation, through the famous PZL P.11c fighter, bombers, helicopters and Cold War-era MiGs) displayed both in hangars and outside on the wide runway of the former Rakowice-Czyżyny airfield.

It is a weekend destination for families with children, aviation enthusiasts and organised groups.

Across Aleja Jana Pawła II, at number 41, operates M1 Kraków shopping mall with an Auchan hypermarket, a favourite shopping ground for the residents of Nowa Huta and Czyżyny.
