We regularly serve the SILESIAN MUSEUM — the flagship cultural venue of Upper Silesia, opened in 2015 on the grounds of the former KWK Katowice mine. The modernist underground architecture, designed by the Austrian studio Riegler Riewe Architekten, makes use of preserved shafts and pithead towers — most of the exhibition is 14 metres below ground, while above ground the original Bartosz and Warszawa pithead towers remain visible. Frequent destinations also include Symfonia Górnicza (post-colliery buildings on Tysiąclecia Street housing restaurants and galleries), Olimpia Park (a residential complex on former mine grounds), the western entrances to the Katowice Culture Zone and post-industrial offices for creative industries.
Załęże requires familiarity with the DTŚ (Silesian Cross-City Expressway) layout — the rapid transit corridor of Upper Silesia, which becomes congested during the morning (07:00-09:00) and afternoon (16:00-18:00) peaks due to traffic between Katowice and Gliwice. The Silesian Museum has its own underground car park at 1 Dobrowolskiego Street — the chauffeur drives directly to the visitor drop-off zone. Symfonia Górnicza and Olimpia Park have their own driveways.
This route works well for post-industrial heritage tourists (Upper Silesia is at the European forefront of post-mining regeneration), Upper Silesian culture enthusiasts visiting the Silesian Museum as part of the "Katowice Culture Zone" combo, modernist architecture photographers (the Bartosz and Warszawa pithead towers are iconic subjects) and guests of industry events in the post-industrial spaces of Symfonia Górnicza. We operate 24/7. The fare is fixed and confirmed before travel; flight tracking, arrivals pickup with a name board and 60 minutes of waiting after landing are included. Payment is completed online by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or BLIK. Child seats, boosters and larger luggage space can be prepared on request.
