Gdynia Aquarium at al. Jana Pawła II 1 on the Gdynia seafront is the only public marine aquarium in Poland. Opened in 1971 as a branch of the Sea Fisheries Institute (MIR), it displays around 1,500 animals from 200 species in 60 tanks.

The exhibits cover coral reefs, Baltic fauna, tropical fish and an Amazon zone. For families with children it is one of the most popular addresses in the Tricity, also well known to school groups for biology programmes. Its location on the Gdynia boulevard, across from the Dar Pomorza tall-ship museum and Kościuszki Square, makes it a natural part of a one-day Gdynia programme.

The transfer from Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport to Gdynia Aquarium covers about 25 km and usually takes 30-40 minutes. The route normally uses the Tricity ring road (S6), the Kwiatkowskiego viaduct and Droga Gdyńska, with the final approach to the seafront near Kościuszki Square.
