The hotel itself occupies a historic 1914 Art Deco building and houses one of the most photographed interiors in Prague. Café Imperial on the ground floor has retained its original ceramic mosaic covering the walls and ceiling, and the Imperial restaurant runs breakfast and evening service in the same heritage setting. The hotel belongs to the Czech Pytloun group, which operates five-star properties in Prague and Liberec. The location is a deliberate choice — Nové Město on the Karlín border combines proximity to the Old Town Square with access to the Karlín boulevard, where corporate offices, the creative quarter and the dining scene of the last decade are concentrated.
The drop-off at the hotel requires attention. Na Poříčí is an active artery with tram and vehicle traffic, so the chauffeur stops on the right-hand side at the main gate, briefly, for the time needed to unload luggage. Reception is right behind the doors, and the hotel bell desk takes the luggage directly from the chauffeur. On late arrivals or in rain we coordinate the arrival moment with the concierge to shorten the time from car door to lobby. For suite-class guests we handle the luggage end to end, and for group arrivals (multi-vehicle) we agree the drop-off sequence with the hotel so that the zone does not block traffic on Na Poříčí.
The Pytloun Imperial location is one of the strongest in the heritage segment. Náměstí Republiky with the Municipal House and the Powder Tower is five minutes on foot, the Old Town Square eight to ten minutes, and the Florenc transport hub (international bus terminal plus Masaryk railway station) three to five minutes by car. Florenc metro station serves lines B and C and is the terminus for regional transfers. The Karlín boulevard begins five to ten minutes on foot from the hotel and is the natural extension for guests combining a heritage stay with visits to Karlín offices. We also handle return transfers to PRG at dawn, when guests choose breakfast at Café Imperial before the flight — pickup from the hotel can be timed against the breakfast reservation. Payment is completed online by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or BLIK. Cash is not accepted.
