Why cross at Hrebenne rather than Dorohusk, which is closer to Lublin?

Hrebenne–Rava Ruska is the only crossing that sits directly on the Lublin–Lviv axis: about 151 km from Lublin to the border and 64–70 km from Rava Ruska to Lviv, 217 km in total, open around the clock. Dorohusk is closer to Lublin but feeds the Volyn direction towards Kovel and Lutsk, which turns the run into roughly 302 km — an 85 km detour. Korczowa and Medyka belong to the Kraków–Rzeszów axis on the A4 motorway and add more than 110 km. Hrebenne does not collect motorway traffic, so queues there are usually shorter than at the Subcarpathian crossings. Before we reach the border the chauffeur checks the waiting times published by the Polish Border Guard at granica.gov.pl and, if the queue warrants it, diverts to Dołhobyczów–Uhryniv: 44 km longer, with no lorry traffic.
