About this route

Route overview

A Warsaw to Lviv private transfer covers 395 km in one car with one chauffeur, with no changes and no handling of luggage on the way. The route follows the E372 axis: the S2 to the Lubelska junction, the S17 past Garwolin, Ryki and Kurów to Lublin, the Lublin bypass to Piaski Wschód, then the single-carriageway DK17 through Krasnystaw, Zamość and Tomaszów Lubelski to the Hrebenne–Rava-Ruska crossing; on the Ukrainian side the M09/E372 runs via Rava-Ruska and Zhovkva straight onto the Lviv western bypass. Hrebenne is the default crossing because it sits exactly on the axis of the route and adds no detour, while freight traffic concentrates further south at Korczowa; the Korczowa variant on the A4/E40 measures 485 km and is chosen before Lublin whenever the waiting times published on granica.gov.pl are clearly better. Around 5.5 h of driving plus 1-3 h of border clearance means 6.5-8.5 h door to door in practice, with the shortest queues overnight and on weekday middays, and the longest on Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons. We collect at Warsaw Chopin Airport, Warsaw Modlin, Warszawa Centralna station or your hotel at the hour you set, and finish at a named address in Lviv: hotels around Rynok Square and prospekt Svobody, the Lviv Opera, Lviv-Holovnyi railway station, offices in the Frankivskyi and Halytskyi districts, addresses in Sykhiv and Lychakiv. Ukraine remains at war, entry requires a valid passport, and the journey runs at a fixed price confirmed in the quote. A Mercedes V-Class seats up to 7 passengers with luggage, larger parties travel in two cars, and the chauffeur drives the whole route and queues at the border with you. Dispatch answers 24/7. We do not operate east of Lviv.

Common questions

FAQ

Which route do you drive from Warsaw to Lviv, and why via Hrebenne?

We follow the E372 axis: the S2 to the Lubelska junction, the S17 past Garwolin, Ryki and Kurów to Lublin, the Lublin bypass to Piaski Wschód, then the single-carriageway DK17 through Krasnystaw, Zamość and Tomaszów Lubelski — only the short Tomaszów bypass is built to expressway standard — to the Hrebenne–Rava-Ruska crossing. On the Ukrainian side the M09/E372 runs through Rava-Ruska and Zhovkva onto the Lviv western bypass. Hrebenne is the default because it sits exactly on the axis of the route and adds no detour, while freight traffic concentrates at Korczowa. The Korczowa variant on the A4/E40 is 485 km; we take it when queues are long, deciding before Lublin after checking granica.gov.pl and kordon.gov.ua.

How long does the drive take and when is the best time to leave Warsaw?

Driving time is around 5.5 hours. Border clearance adds 1-3 hours for cars, so 6.5-8.5 hours door to door is realistic. Queues are shortest overnight, roughly between 02:00 and 05:00, and on weekdays between 10:00 and 15:00; they are longest on Friday evenings, Sunday afternoons after 16:00 and around public holidays. For a morning meeting in Lviv we usually suggest leaving Warsaw at night: the crossing moves quickly and you enter the city at dawn. For an evening arrival we build in a margin, because movement in the Lviv region is restricted overnight. We check live waiting times before departure and again on the road, before Lublin.

Can you fly to Lviv, and is the train faster than a car?

Ukrainian airspace has been closed to civil aviation since 24 February 2022, and Lviv Danylo Halytskyi airport (LWO), which handled 1.8 million passengers in 2021, is not accepting flights. The final leg into western Ukraine is therefore driven, including for passengers landing at Warsaw Chopin. Rail in this corridor is thin: PKP Intercity 765/766 leaves Warszawa Zachodnia at 05:26 and reaches Rava-Ruska at 13:45, where the change of track gauge forces a transfer to a Ukrainian train; with luggage and the onward hop from Lviv-Holovnyi station that is over eight hours on a fixed timetable. A private car leaves at the hour you choose and finishes at your address.

Is travel to Lviv safe, and what documents do we need?

Ukraine is at war and the decision to travel is yours — we do not claim it is safe, we tell you plainly how the journey works and we drive once the booking is confirmed. On documents: Ukraine is outside the Schengen Area, so every passenger needs a valid passport; an EU or national ID card is not accepted. EU citizens enter visa-free for 90 days in any 180-day period, and most other Western nationalities do the same. On the vehicle side a Green Card is mandatory and is carried as a printout together with the registration document and the driver's authorisation. We prepare the car's paperwork before departure; you only bring your passport.

Where do you collect in Warsaw and where do you drop off in Lviv?

In Warsaw we collect anywhere: Chopin Airport, Warsaw Modlin, Warszawa Centralna station, a hotel in Śródmieście, an office in Wola or a private address. We track flights, so a delayed arrival does not cost you the transfer — the chauffeur waits in the terminal. An ordinary Warsaw taxi will not cross into Ukraine, which is why the whole journey is done by one cross-border driver in one car. In Lviv we finish at a named address rather than on the outskirts: hotels around Rynok Square and prospekt Svobody, the Lviv Opera, Lviv-Holovnyi station, offices in the Frankivskyi and Halytskyi districts, Sykhiv and Lychakiv, and the Lychakiv Cemetery. The Mercedes V-Class seats up to 7 with luggage.

Can I add a stop on route Warsaw (hotel, Chopin Airport, Modlin or Warszawa Centralna) → Lviv (Львів, hotel or city address)?

Yes. Planned stops and waiting windows can be included within a single booking.

Will I receive route confirmation before pickup?

Yes. Core timing and operational details are confirmed before dispatch.
