The transfer from BTS to Devín covers about 22 km and usually takes 30-45 minutes depending on the season and traffic. The standard route runs along the D2 motorway towards Lamač, then road II/505 along the Danube to Devín village. On July and August weekends, and especially during the Slovak National Pilgrimage to Devín (Slovenská národná púť k Devínu) in June, the approach takes considerably longer — Muránska, the only street leading up to the castle, blocks up from the parking side as early as 11:00. For weddings and heritage events we recommend earlier arrival or a pre-arranged priority drop-off directly at the Hradné nádvorie entrance.
Devín has no hotels — every event is organised as a day-trip or pickup-and-return, with the chauffeur collecting guests after the programme and bringing them back to a hotel in central Bratislava or directly to the airport. After drop-off the chauffeur waits at the P3 car park in Devín village, from which it is roughly a 15-minute walk uphill to the castle. Devín primarily hosts the Slovak National Pilgrimage in June, the Devínska brána folk festival, the Great Moravian feast reenactments (Veľkomoravské hodovanie), wedding ceremonies in the chapel ruins and on the courtyard, and cultural events highlighting the symbolism of the Danube-Morava confluence. The Mercedes V-Class is standard for wedding parties because of the gown, the route length and the often changeable weather above the Danube. The fare is fixed and agreed at booking, payment by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, with 60 minutes of complimentary waiting at BTS.
