About this route
Route overview
The Prague Airport–Konopiště route is a day-trip to a Habsburg residence carrying a heavy historical weight. From 1887 the chateau belonged to Archduke Franz Ferdinand d'Este, heir to the Austro-Hungarian throne — his assassination in Sarajevo in 1914 ignited the First World War. Konopiště today is one of the most surprising estates in the Czech Republic: a Renaissance core rebuilt as a Habsburg residence, formal Italian gardens and a rose garden, the famous Hunting Trophy Hall with more than 300,000 mounted heads, and the St. George Collection of over 4,500 statues and icons — the largest in the world. The drive south on the D1 motorway takes around 50 minutes. From a premium guest's perspective it is the ideal half-day with deep historical context. The chauffeur meets you after landing, drives directly to the Konopiště park, waits during the visit, and returns. We cover the route with Mercedes E-Class, S-Class or V-Class, with flight monitoring and 60 minutes of complimentary wait time after landing. Fixed price, chauffeur in dark suit.
