About this route
Route overview
Cambridge is the second of England's ancient universities — thirty-one colleges, King's College Chapel, the Bridge of Sighs and punting on the river Cam. Guests usually stay at the University Arms, the Varsity Hotel & Spa, Hotel du Vin or the Gonville Hotel. From Gatwick the route runs up the M23, then around the eastern M25 anticlockwise and onto the M11 into Cambridge — 130-150 km, 130-175 min depending on time of day. That is noticeably longer than from Heathrow (100-140 min) because LGW sits south of London. The driver pulls up to the North or South Terminal according to your flight number and waits in the arrivals hall with a name board. We handle academic guests (parents, candidates, speakers) and business travel alike — Cambridge Science Park, AstraZeneca HQ and the biotech campus. May Balls in June and graduation week need early booking because of black-tie timings and late finishes.
