About this route
Route overview
Oxford is the academic heart of England — nearly thirty historic colleges, the Bodleian Library, the Radcliffe Camera and the narrow streets around Broad Street and Turl Street. Guests usually stay at the Randolph (Graduate Oxford), Old Parsonage or Malmaison Oxford Castle. From Gatwick the route runs up the M23, then around the western M25 clockwise and onto the M40 into Oxford — 130-145 km and 130-170 min, noticeably longer than from Heathrow (75-110 min). The driver pulls up to the North or South Terminal according to your flight number and waits in the arrivals hall with a name board. Most colleges have a legal drop-off at the porter's lodge — we confirm the final approach with the porter in advance to get you as close to your room or lecture hall as possible. Encaenia week in June, the May Day choir on Magdalen tower and Eights Week need extra planning due to street closures.
