Route overview
Zelazowa Wola is the family village of Frederic Chopin and one of the most important musical pilgrimage sites in Poland. The Skarbek family manor house where the composer was born on 1 March 1810, the Chopin Park (7 hectares of mature plantings) and the Chopin Centre hosting Saturday and Sunday piano recitals from May to September (12:00 and 15:00, on a Steinway in the chamber hall). 50 km via the A2 motorway to the Mszczonow junction, then DK50 and local roads to Zelazowa Wola, 1 h - 1 h 15 min off-peak. The bottleneck is the A2 exit out of Warsaw during the 7-9 and 16-19 peaks. The service runs 24/7. A standard plan: 10:00 hotel pickup, 11:15 arrival at Zelazowa Wola, house and park tour (1.5-2 h), 12:00 or 15:00 piano recital (45 min, tickets from PLN 30), lunch at "Pod Wierzbami" (regional Mazovian cuisine), 15:00 return to a Warsaw hotel.
