About this route
Route overview
Brighton is the seaside capital of Sussex — Brighton Pier, the Royal Pavilion, The Lanes and the long promenade. Hotels include The Grand Brighton, Hotel du Vin Brighton, Drakes Hotel and the Hilton Brighton Metropole. From Heathrow the route runs along the M25 orbital to the M23 junction and then straight down the M23 — 110-125 km, but a full 130-180 min because of M25 traffic and the narrow Brighton streets on the final approach to seafront hotels. Gatwick (LGW) sits much closer to Brighton (35-55 min) — if Brighton is your first stop it is worth considering LGW as the arrival airport; we cover both. Festival weekends (Brighton Festival and Brighton Fringe in May, Brighton Pride in August) bring heavy traffic in both directions — we add a 30-45 min buffer.
