About this route
Route overview
Pieskowa Skala sits at the heart of Ojcow National Park — Poland's smallest national park and one of the most beautiful. The Renaissance castle on a limestone hill with an arcaded courtyard (14th century, remodelled by Santi Gucci) hosts a branch of the National Museum with a European art collection. Two hundred metres away rises the Hercules Club — a striking 25-metre limestone tor and emblem of the park. The Pradnik valley hides caves (Lokietek, Ciemna), springs and more than 1000 plant species. 35 km from KRK via DK94 and local roads — 45 min - 1 h. This is the shortest premium route in our portfolio. Best season April to October (caves open, forest green). The service runs 24/7. The driver pulls up at the KRK terminal with a name board and delivers you to the castle car park (paid, PLN 15). Classic plan: KRK 9:00, castle 10:00-12:00, the Hercules Club and a short valley walk 12:00-13:30, lunch at Karczma u Targosza, optional Lokietek cave 14:00-15:00, return to a Krakow hotel by 16:00. Ideal as a half-day or full-day trip.
