About this route
Route overview
Dunajec Gorge rafting at Sromowce Wyzne is the most famous water attraction in Poland — 18 km of winding canyon between vertical Pieniny walls (UNESCO landscape) on traditional wooden raftsmen rafts operated by highlanders in white breeches and waistcoats. The trip lasts 2 h 30 min and ends in Szczawnica or Kroscienko, from PLN 105 per adult (2026), season 10 April - 31 October. 145 km via the Zakopianka S7 to Nowy Targ, then DK49 to Sromowce Wyzne — 2 h 15 min - 2 h 30 min off-peak. Sromowce has two harbours: Katy (main, ticket office) and Sromowce Nizne. On July and August weekends the harbour opens at 8:30 and closes at 14:00, so we must leave KRK by 6:30 at the latest. The service runs 24/7. Classic plan: 6:30 pick-up from a Krakow hotel or directly at KRK terminal, 9:00 arrival at Katy harbour, 10:00 rafting start, 12:30 Szczawnica, return transfer via Niedzica or directly to KRK — 8-9 h day in total.
