About this route
Route overview
The classic full-day visit through Lesser Poland — the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and the Wieliczka Salt Mine, both UNESCO World Heritage sites, mapped into one logical day with a private chauffeur. The standard itinerary: 8:00 hotel or KRK airport pickup, 9:15 arrival at Auschwitz (A4 then DK933), 9:45 entry with a licensed guide (slot booked online a week in advance), 13:00 end of tour, 13:30 local lunch in Oswiecim or along the route, 14:30 arrival at Wieliczka (80 km, DK44 and A4), 15:00 start of the Tourist Route with a guide (2 h 30 min down to 135 metres below ground), 17:30 departure from Wieliczka, 18:00 return to your hotel in Krakow. Nine hours door-to-door, but the whole day is built around your pace. The chauffeur waits at both stops, knows the parking geometry and helps with tickets. Auschwitz requires understated clothing and comfortable shoes (3-4 km of walking), Wieliczka stays at a steady 14 Celsius (jacket recommended). From EUR 380 in a Mercedes E-Class for 1-3 passengers, from EUR 480 in a V-Class for 4-6 passengers with luggage. The price is fixed at booking, with no surcharge for waiting.
