About this route
Route overview
The KTW -> KRK inter-airport route is the shortest airport-to-airport leg in Poland: Pyrzowice and Balice sit in neighbouring Silesia and Lesser Poland regions, separated by only 80 km of motorway. Full motorway transit on the A1 from Pyrzowice to the Gliwice Sosnica junction, then A4 to Krakow, 1 h - 1 h 15 min off-peak. The classic passenger profile is connection long-haul: a Wizz Air or Ryanair flight into KTW and an LOT continuation out of Balice to Frankfurt or Munich for onward Lufthansa to the US, or direct LOT to New York JFK. We recommend a 3 hour buffer for European departures out of KRK and 4 hours for LOT routings via WAW to the US. Bottlenecks are the A4 around Krakow on Friday afternoons 14-18 (up to 30 min added by inbound city traffic) and the A1 around Gliwice in the 7-9 peak. The service operates 24/7, so we also handle early Balice departures after an overnight KTW arrival. The chauffeur pulls up at the KTW terminal with a name board and delivers you to the correct Balice terminal. Mercedes E-Class from EUR 450 for 1-3 passengers, V-Class from EUR 580 for 4-6 with luggage. The route is also popular for GZM <-> Lesser Poland business delegations and ICE Krakow conference attendees.
