About this route
Route overview
Kashubia is a unique cultural land in northern Poland — the Kashubs have their own regional language (Kashubian, recognised by law since 2005), folklore, embroidery and music. The Kashubian capital Koscierzyna offers the Koscierzyna Land Museum, the Holy Trinity Basilica and a historic small-town centre. Kartuzy is famous for the Carthusian Monastery (14th c., a coffin-shaped roof tile recalling the order's hermit discipline) and the Klasztorne Lake. The Wdzydze Skansen at Wdzydze Kiszewskie is the oldest open-air museum in Poland (1906), with 50 wooden Kashubian buildings from the 18th-20th centuries — cottages, churches, mills and forges. The Wejherowo Calvary on the way — a Baroque complex of 26 Passion chapels from the 17th c. 60-80 km via the S6 to the Lebork junction, then DK20 to Koscierzyna and local roads to the Kashubian Landscape Park, 1 h 15 min - 1 h 45 min off-peak.
