About this route
Route overview
The Stutthof Museum in Sztutowo is a memorial to the former German Nazi concentration camp KL Stutthof — the first concentration camp established by the Third Reich outside its administrative borders (2 September 1939, the day after the invasion of Poland). More than 110,000 prisoners from 28 countries passed through the camp and approximately 65,000 lost their lives here. A visit is an act of remembrance for the victims — it asks for focus, restrained clothing and quiet. The route covers the main gate with its tower, the prisoner barracks, the gas chamber, the crematorium, the women's block and the museum exhibition with documents, photographs and personal belongings. Audio guides are available in PL, EN, DE, HE and many other languages. Children under 14 are not admitted — a museum rule reflecting the difficult nature of the exhibits. 40 km via the DK7 and DK91 to Sztutowo, 50 min - 1 h off-peak. The service runs 24/7. A standard plan: 9:00 hotel pickup, 10:00 arrival at the museum, visit with audio guide or licensed guide (3 h), 13:30 return to Gdansk with a quiet lunch stop by the bay (Stegna or Krynica Morska). From EUR 350 in a Mercedes E-Class for 1-3 passengers, EUR 420 in a V-Class for 4-6.
