About this route
Route overview
The route from Prague Airport (PRG) to Litomyšl follows the D1 motorway and continues on the I-35 road towards Svitavy. The 165 km drive takes around 2 hours. Litomyšl is famed for its Renaissance castle built in 1568–1581, with an arcaded courtyard decorated in fine sgraffito; it was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1999 as an outstanding example of the Italian-style Renaissance arcaded palace adapted to Czech lands. In the castle brewery, on 2 March 1824, Bedřich Smetana – composer of the cycle Má vlast – was born. Every June and July the town hosts the Smetanova Litomyšl Opera Festival, one of the oldest in Europe. We operate Mercedes E-Class (1–3 passengers), S-Class for executive arrivals, and V-Class for families or groups of up to six. The fare is fixed and confirmed before departure, the chauffeur tracks your flight, and 60 minutes of complimentary waiting time after landing are included. On request we plan stops at Litomyšl Castle, the Smetana Museum, the Piarist Church of the Finding of the True Cross, and Smetana Square – the elongated arcaded marketplace. This route is particularly popular as a transfer for the summer opera performances.
