About this route
Route overview
A transfer from Gatwick to Paris runs via the Eurotunnel — the car-carrying shuttle from the Folkestone terminal to Calais takes the vehicle and its passengers under the Channel in about 35 minutes. From LGW the route runs up the M23, then along the M25 to the M20 junction and down the M20 to Folkestone — 440-470 km and 7.5-9.5 hours door-to-door. Gatwick is geographically closer to the Eurotunnel than Heathrow, so for cross-channel transfers it is the natural choice — about 30-60 min shorter than from LHR. Premium Paris hotels on our drop list include the Ritz Paris, Hôtel de Crillon, Four Seasons George V, Le Bristol Paris, Plaza Athénée and Le Meurice. The Eurotunnel runs 24/7 and we reserve a slot in advance for every transfer. The driver pulls up to the North or South Terminal according to your flight number and waits in the arrivals hall with a name board. After the Calais exit the route continues on the A26 and A1 into Paris with no change of vehicle and no connections.
