Route overview
Puck is the historic site of Poland's Wedding to the Sea — on 10 February 1920 General Jozef Haller, in the presence of civil and military authorities, performed a symbolic act of wedding the Republic to the Baltic by throwing a platinum ring into the sea, inscribed "With the sea, to which the Republic is bound from today for all time." The act sealed Poland's return to the Baltic after 123 years of partition. The Wedding Monument over Puck Bay (unveiled 1965) is the central place of remembrance, with state ceremonies held here every 10 February.
