About this route
Route overview
The VIE -> GDN inter-airport route links the Austrian Airlines long-haul hub with the main airport of the Tri-City: 870 km and 9 - 10 h of driving. We leave VIE on the A4 via the Drasenhofen / Mikulov border (Schengen, no checks), D2 to Brno, A1 through Katowice, Lodz and Torun into Gdansk. GDN handles LOT connections via Warsaw to the US and Asia plus Wizz Air to Tel Aviv, Dubai and Reykjavik, with a strong Norwegian and SAS Scandinavian network. The route is popular for Tri-City to Vienna business travel (Gdynia ports, import/export) and multi-stop tourism: Vienna + Warsaw + Gdansk. Bottlenecks are the D1 around Brno and the Tri-City ring during 7-9 and 16-19 peak hours (up to 60 min added). The service runs 24/7, we also handle overnight and early GDN departures after an evening VIE arrival. We recommend a 4 hour buffer for European departures and 5 hours for long-haul Warsaw connections. Mercedes E-Class from EUR 2,200 for 1-3 passengers, V-Class from EUR 2,600 for 4-6.
