About this route
Route overview
The BTS -> BUD inter-airport route connects two Danube-side Wizz Air hubs in close proximity: 220 km and 2 h 30 min - 3 h of driving. We leave BTS on the Slovak D2 through Bratislava, on the D4 motorway and the Hungarian M1 straight to Budapest, arriving at terminal 2A/2B of Liszt Ferenc. BUD is the largest Wizz Air base in Europe and a Ryanair hub, with flights across the EU plus Tel Aviv and Dubai. The route is popular for AT/SK/HU multi-stop: a day in Vienna, an afternoon in Bratislava, an overnight in Budapest. Summer Bratislava-Wien-Budapest combo travellers (V4 plus Austria) book 2-3 nights across the three cities. The bottlenecks are the M1 around Tatabanya and the M0 airport ring during the 7-9 and 16-19 peak hours (up to 30 min added). The service runs 24/7, so we handle early BUD departures to Tel Aviv or Dubai. We recommend a 3 hour buffer before a BUD departure. Mercedes E-Class from EUR 950 for 1-3 passengers, V-Class from EUR 1,200 for 4-6.
