About this route
Route overview
Žilina is the economic and academic centre of the Považie region. It hosts the KIA Slovakia plant — the country's largest car producer — while the University of Žilina (UNIZA) draws academic delegations from Korea, the EU and the Balkans. A heritage centre with Marian Square and the Holy Trinity Church contrasts with the strong industrial profile. The BTS–Žilina route follows the D1 motorway along the Váh river — it also functions as the natural gateway to the High Tatras (East) and the Donovaly ski resort 60 km further on. A premium transfer maintains one standard from landing to the hotel, the plant gate or the mountain station.
