About this route
Route overview
The PRG -> KRK inter-airport route is the shortest Prague to Poland connection: 530 km via the D1 to Brno, D2 and R1 to Ostrava, A1 and A4 to Krakow, 6 h - 6 h 30 min off-peak. KRK handles LOT services to Frankfurt and Munich (with Lufthansa onward to the US and Asia) and Wizz Air and Ryanair flights across Europe. The bottlenecks are the D1 around Brno (roadworks and heavy goods traffic) and the CZ/PL border crossing at Cieszyn. The A4 into Krakow runs smoothly off-peak; during the 7-9 and 16-19 peaks it adds 30 min around Katowice. The service operates 24/7, so we also handle early Balice departures (LOT to Frankfurt 6:45). We recommend a 4 hour buffer before a European departure from KRK and 5 hours for a long-haul connection (KRK-FRA-JFK or similar). The route is also popular for multi-stop: Prague + Auschwitz + Krakow in a single day. Mercedes E-Class from EUR 1,650 for 1-3 passengers, V-Class from EUR 1,950 for 4-6.
