About this route
Route overview
The Prague–Český Těšín route runs along the D1 motorway through Brno and Ostrava, then D48 to the Polish border. Český Těšín and Cieszyn form a twin city divided by the Olza river — heritage of the Duchy of Teschen under the Habsburgs. The Czech side carries the Karviná and Bohumín industrial heritage; the Polish side hosts the Piast Castle. Ideal for travellers with families on both sides of the border.
