About this route
Route overview
The Krakow to Auschwitz transfer is a memorial visit done with respect. 70 km on national road DK44 and the A4 motorway separate Krakow city centre from the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum in Oświęcim — 1 h 15 min to 1 h 30 min depending on traffic. Standard visit format: 8:00 hotel pickup in Krakow, arrival 9:30 (typical reserved entry slot at the Museum), chauffeur waits during the visit (3-4 hours for both sites — Auschwitz I and Birkenau), return to Krakow in the afternoon. The Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum requires advance online registration. From April to October, between 10:00 and 16:00, entry is only possible with a licensed guide for organised groups. We help with the logistics: booking the entry slot, parking the chauffeur in the Museum's coach zone, coordinating the visit time of Auschwitz I (~2 hours) with the 3 km transfer to Birkenau (~1 hour). The visit is emotionally demanding — the chauffeur drives quietly, asks no questions, and remains discreetly available when you are ready to leave. Mercedes-Benz E-Class or V-Class with a dedicated chauffeur in a muted dark suit. The vehicle is kept in showroom condition but without ostentation — the moment of arrival under the gate marked "Arbeit Macht Frei" demands restraint. Child seats on request (the Museum recommends children aged 14+ given the nature of the exhibit), mineral water in a chilled holder, USB-C charging. For families with younger children we recommend a consultation with our dispatch — we can suggest an alternate route (Wieliczka, Tyniec) if appropriate. The return transfer can include a lunch stop at Tyniec (Benedictine Abbey, classical Polish cuisine at Klasztorna restaurant) or Wieliczka, or as a full-day combination Auschwitz → Wieliczka → Krakow. For guests combining historical remembrance with mountain relaxation — the popular Krakow → Auschwitz → Zakopane route (full day, chauffeur drives until late evening). Payment by Visa/Mastercard/Amex, BLIK, EU VAT invoice, EUR/PLN cash. The price covers 4 hours chauffeur waiting during the visit, child seats, bilingual chauffeur.
