About this route
Route overview
Tatranská Lomnica (850 m a.s.l.) is the gateway to Lomnický štít — the second highest peak in the Tatras (2634 m), with a cable car that departs directly from the village and climbs via Skalnaté Pleso to the summit. It is also home to the TANAP Visitor Centre and the heritage Grand Hotel Praha Tatranská Lomnica, opened in 1905. The route from BTS runs along the D1 motorway through Poprad, then the I/66 road straight to the Tatry-Lomnica ski area (Encian, Buková hora). Four hours and fifteen minutes is the choice for guests who want to head straight to the hotel, the first morning gondola or a photographic session of the Tatra panorama. V-Class for families with ski luggage, S-Class for premium stays at Grand Hotel Praha. Winter season December–March, alpinism and hiking May–October.
