Hotel Imperial at Libušina 18 is the flagship spa address on the hilltop above Karlovy Vary. The property was designed in 1912 by British architect Ernest Hébrard and has specialised in cardiac rehabilitation and classic Karlsbad cures for over a century. The hotel runs its own funicular — the Imperial — free of charge for guests, linking the spa centre with the hotel entrance and forming part of the address itself. The distance from Karlovy Vary Airport is about 7 km and the usual transfer time is 12 minutes. The standard route follows K Letišti, Závodní and Chebská, then climbs the Helenina hill via the serpentine road, with the final section adjusted to live conditions at the hotel gate. Operationally, Imperial requires familiarity with the hilltop access. The serpentine has several tight bends, limited passing space and a short stopping window under the portico. Your chauffeur waits in arrivals with a name board, tracks the flight in real time and assists with luggage from the terminal onward. We work with the Imperial concierge so the arrival moment can be synced with the bellman. Guests who prefer to start their stay with a panoramic view can leave the car at the lower funicular station and ride down toward the Vřídlo geyser — the walk to the Mlýnská kolonáda takes about ten minutes downhill. Imperial suits classic spa stays, cardiac rehabilitation programmes, weekend wellness retreats and Karlsbad cure visits (usually 7-14 days). On request we coordinate the arrival window with the concierge, prepare a child seat or booster, and for guests with balneology equipment assign a vehicle with extra luggage space — Mercedes E, S or V class. Bottled water and 60 minutes of waiting after landing remain included. The fare includes meet and greet, live flight tracking, luggage assistance and operational handling of the hilltop approach.
