About this route
Route overview
Liverpool is the home of The Beatles, of two of the world's most famous football clubs and of the UNESCO Maritime Mercantile City. The Cavern Club, Penny Lane, Strawberry Field, the Beatles Story and Mathew Street draw visitors from around the world, while Anfield (Liverpool FC) and Goodison Park (Everton FC) fill the city on Premier League match days. From Gatwick the route runs via the M23, M25, M40, M6 and M62 — 380 km, 4h 15min to 5h 30min depending on time of day. The eastern M25 ring road adds time versus a Heathrow departure. Premium hotels include the Titanic Hotel in the historic Stanley Dock, the Hope Street Hotel, the Hard Days Night Hotel (Beatles-themed), 30 James Street (Cunard heritage) and the Liverpool Marriott. The Royal Liver Building, the Three Graces at Pier Head and Albert Dock are the iconic waterfront addresses. Your transfer holds at a fixed price even during Grand National week (Aintree, April) and Beatles Week (August). The driver pulls up to the North or South Terminal according to your flight number and waits in the arrivals hall with a name board.
