About this route
Route overview
Door-to-door transfer Gdansk to Kaunas for Tri-City guests, cruise passengers and travellers who prefer a private car. About 410 km: east from Gdansk via Olsztyn and Elk to the S61 Via Baltica, then via Suwalki to the Budzisko crossing, and the Lithuanian A5 into Kaunas. The route deliberately bypasses the Kaliningrad region — it runs entirely through Poland and Lithuania, that is through Schengen, with no border checks and an EU ID card alone. The same-day 5–6 h plan runs on expressway and main roads with breaks every 2–3 h. Kaunas was Lithuania's provisional capital from 1919 to 1939, and it still shows: UNESCO-listed interwar modernist architecture, the Baroque Pazaislis Monastery, the Old Town at the meeting of the Nemunas and Neris rivers, the Zalgiris basketball arena and Kaunas Airport (KUN). Kaunas sits about an hour before Vilnius, so the two cities combine easily into one plan. Vehicle: a Mercedes E-Class or S-Class for business travel, a V-Class for 4–6 passengers with luggage. A fixed price confirmed at booking, one chauffeur and one number for the whole route, 24/7.
