Trenčín is one of Slovakia's strongest heritage destinations — the Gothic Trenčín Castle perched on its rock dominates the town, and at the foot of the cliff sits the Roman Laugaricio inscription from 179 AD, the northernmost mark of the Roman Empire in Europe. The BTS–Trentschin route runs along the D1 motorway following the Váh river. It works for heritage tours, guests of the Trenčianske Teplice spa (10 km further), passengers of Trenčín University, and delegations combining a short stay with a castle visit.
