Private Malbork Castle Tour from Gdansk

Malbork Castle is located 60 km south-east of Gdansk. The drive by private car takes about 50 minutes via the A1 motorway through Tczew. It is the closest major UNESCO site to the Tri-City area.

The entire tour with hotel pickup and return takes about 5 hours. About 50 minutes each way on the drive, 2.5–3 hours visiting the castle, optionally 1 hour for lunch. You are back in Gdansk by early afternoon.

Options include: private car with driver (~50 min, door-to-door via A1), PKP Intercity train (~35 min + ~15 min walk from station), group bus tour (~1h 15min + collection). A private transfer offers the greatest comfort and flexibility.

Entry tickets cost approximately 70 PLN (~16 EUR) for adults and ~55 PLN for children, students and seniors. The audioguide in 11 languages is included in the ticket price. In peak season we recommend online reservation in advance — we book on your behalf.

The price consists of a base vehicle fee plus a per-person fee. For example: Mercedes E-Class for 2 guests is approximately 455 EUR total, V-Class for 4 guests around 585 EUR. The larger the group, the lower the per-person cost. We provide an exact quote after receiving your enquiry.

Minimum 2 hours for the tourist route. Full visit with audioguide takes 2.5–3 hours. For a detailed visit with a licensed guide — up to 4 hours. The driver waits with no time limit.

The tourist route covers: High Castle (Grand Masters' residence), Church of the Virgin Mary with reconstructed Madonna figure, Middle Castle with Palace of the Grand Masters and Great Refectory, Low Castle with warehouses and fortifications, treasury with amber collection, Weapons Museum.

Summer season (May–September): 9:00–20:00, last entry at 19:00. Winter season (October–April): 10:00–15:00, last entry at 14:00. The castle is open daily except for some holidays.

Yes — from June to August in the evenings (usually 20:30) the "Light and Sound" show takes place in the castle courtyard. It tells the story of the Teutonic Order through lights, sound and special effects. Separate ticket, booked additionally.

Yes — the castle is fascinating for children (knights, cloisters, defensive walls, weapons collection). No minimum age. The visit requires a lot of walking and climbing stairs — younger children may need breaks.

Yes — the driver parks right near the castle entrance and waits for your return throughout the visit. No time limit. When you finish, simply call or message — the car will be ready in a few minutes.

Yes. Free cancellation is available up to 48 hours before the scheduled visit. Cancellations with shorter notice may incur fees related to unused museum tickets.

Yes — Kwidzyn is 30 minutes further beyond Malbork. It is another historic Teutonic castle. The extended "Malbork + Kwidzyn" package takes ~7 hours instead of 5. We are happy to arrange — an option for Teutonic Order history enthusiasts.
